About New2h Help

New2h Help is an independent website that explains scams in plain English, so older adults and their families can spot them early and know exactly what to do next.

Why we exist

Scammers change their scripts every few months, but the official warnings are spread across dozens of agency websites and are not always easy to read. We collect what the Federal Trade Commission, the FBI, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Social Security, Medicare and state attorneys general publish, and we turn it into short, practical articles: what the scam looks like, the warning signs, and the exact steps to take.

Who we write for

Our main readers are adults in their 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s — and the sons, daughters and friends who look out for them. That is why our pages use large text, high contrast and simple layouts, and why almost every article ends with an easy way to send it to someone you love.

Our team

Articles are written and reviewed by the New2h Help editorial team. Every article shows who wrote it, who reviewed it, and when it was last updated. You can read how we research and check facts in our editorial policy.

What we are not

  • We are not a government agency. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the FTC, FBI, USPS, Social Security Administration, IRS, Medicare or any other agency.
  • We cannot investigate cases or recover money. Our report a scam page lists the official places that can.
  • We do not give legal or financial advice. For your specific situation, talk to a lawyer, your bank or a licensed professional.
  • We will never call, text or email you to ask for money or personal information. If someone claiming to be us does, it is a scam.

How we are funded

The site is free to read and is supported by advertising. Advertisers have no say in what we write. Read our advertising disclosure for details.
